Thank you for taking a bit of time from your busy day to read from my site. I will start off by giving you a little information about me and my intentions for this site – and then we can go from there.
My name is James Creighton, but more often than not I go by Jim. I have been doing the internet thing since the 286 was the King of the PC’s, and Bulletin Boards were where all the “cool” people hung out. I began my foray into programming using a TRS-80 with a tape drive, as well as an Apple IIe with dual 5 1/4 floppies. Who would have ever thought you could possibly need more storage than what was available there. At one time I even had used punchcards.
I am a Husband. I was lucky enough to find my perfect match and we have been making it work. It seems like we have always been together and she is my best friend. I can’t imagine not having her in my life. She is well on her way to becoming a social media maven in her own right. She is the person behind http://mommyrambles.com.
I am a Father. Together we have four children (1 college sophomore, 1 Type-1 diabetic high school junior, 1 high school freshman with Aspergers, and our 8 year-old pediatric stroke survivor with Autism, mild cerebral palsy and multiple life-threatening food allergies.) Our life is anything but boring – some might even claim it is a little hectic or frantic.
I am a Navy Chief. I am a Submariner. I have been in the Navy for the last 18 years and have had such a great experience. I love submarines. I do not always like the periods of separation from my family but I do enjoy being out to sea on a sub. There is nothing quite like it. It is not for everyone but it was for me. I no longer go out to sea on submarines. I still love to kick back and think about the old days. I am a Patriot. I believe in freedom, and I love my country.
I am a Social Media Junkie. I can talk for hours upon hours about almost anything. Soon, I will be heading out on a new adventure but am looking forward to taking all of my friends on the journey with me through this website coupled with my Twitter account (@JustPlainJ), Facebook, and once I get the hang of it, Google+.
I do believe that those who take advantage of others, who seek to hurt others to further their own position will receive their due. Karma bites hard sometimes, and often when least expected.
I intend to use this site to record my thoughts, opinions, and observations while allowing for discussion on the topics with the request that all discussions remain civil. I will insist that you may disagree with a point of view without making derogatory comments, or attacking the person who made the comment you disagree with.
